Procedure Details

Performed under general anesthesia, usually across two or more staged surgeries. A cartilage framework - carved from the patient's own rib cartilage, or in some cases a synthetic framework - is shaped and placed under the skin, with a later stage to elevate the ear and refine details like the earlobe. Each stage typically takes 2-4 hours.
